The Pergamonmuseum’s Court of Honor

Entrances and Passages

In the future, the Court of Honor will serve as a hub. Just as today, it will feature the entrances to the Pergamonmuseum: the central entrance pavilion and new entrances to the side wings.

Additionally, new passages are planned in the north and south wings of the Pergamonmuseum. They will connect the Court of Honor to the entire Museum Island. Without leaving the island, visitors will be able to reach the Neues Museum and the Colonnade Courtyard to the south, and even go on to the square on the Spree side of the Pergamonmuseum. Walking north they will reach the two alleys along the railroad viaduct, which also lead to the square on the Spree side.

A Courtyard Serving as a Hub

A bridge over the Kupfergraben will lead towards the Court of Honor. Before entering the court, visitors will pass under the new fourth wing of the Pergamonmuseum. This is where the new entrances to the north and south wings of the museum will be located as well. Once visitors have reached the courtyard, they will catch sight of the newly designed tempietto entrance of the Pergamonmuseum and the passages leading to the open spaces to the north and south of the building. In the future, the Court of Honor will be enclosed by the Pergamonmuseum on all sides.
