Temple of Sahurê

Temple of Sahurê, graphics from the 3D model In future, the unique ensemble of large, antique architecture on the Museumsinsel will also cover Old Egypt. At the beginning of the 20th century the columns and architrave of the courtyard of the pyramid temple of King Sahurê (around 2400 BC) in Abusir came to Berlin through division of the finds of a German excavation and were to be exhibited in a new building along the Kupfergraben. After a delay of a mere century they will find space in the fourth wing of the Pergamonmuseum, where they will form an authentic setting for large ancient Egyptian sculptures.
